A Long way Home

A handcrafted short film exploring stagnation, uncertainty, and the relentless urge for motion. Developed in 2026 during my artist residency at KULT XL in Brussels, this project weaves together miniature sets, stop-motion animation, and practical special effects to journey between physical railway stations and interior psychological landscapes.

Departures

Created during my artist residency (FCDA) in Brussels in 2024, this short film stems from an immersive installation project exploring the friction between reality and cinematic myth. The film drives into the Californian iconography, weaving together the aesthetic language of Sunset Boulevard, neon nights, palm trees, cars, with the raw texture of ordinary daily life. Through handcrafted scale models, I map the emotional currents of space, translating the physical world into psychological landscapes. Iconic cinematic backdrops dissolve into mainstream urban elements, like a traditional Belgian friterie shifting the narrative from a literal journey to a sensory exploration of displacement.

Crossroads

Crossroads is a handcrafted short film that I conceived during my Master's studying Painting at La Cambre in Brussels. Through meticulously sculpted spaces, the film reconstructs the architecture of memory, transforming personal recollections into tangible landscapes. The movie functions like a mental road trip, navigating through mediterranean mythology, Tuscan lights, swimming pools and nocturnal wanderings merge into autofiction, nostalgia where architectures become emotional territories. As the boundaries between reality and imagination dissolve, I eventually step into my own construction, suggesting that every landscape we cross is ultimately an interior experience.
